Saturday:
Uganda v Angola
Utility defender Nestroy Kizito has made a last minute return to camp that may see him reinstated to the Uganda Cranes squad that will battle Group Three pace-setters Angola in tomorrow’s crunch World Cup/Nations Cup qualifier at Namboole Stadium.
According to Edgar Watson the FUFA Technical Director, Kizito who was given ample time to apparently take care of his ailing father looks fit and may start the Saturday game.
“He has been busy in hospital moving up and down but when he showed up today (Thursday), the coach allowed him to train and he has impressed," said Watson.
Coach Laszlo Csaba may now be forced to change his plans; having considered to either hand teenager Sam Senoga his second national team cap or stick to Abubaker Tabula who had a bad game in Benin on Sunday in the left back position.
“I have Tabula and Senoga so the situation is not that bad,” Csaba had earlier said when taking the team through the paces at Namboole yesterday.
Kizito is considered by many to be the first choice left back.
Meanwhile striker Geoffrey Massa who has failed to pass fitness test, is likely not to feature.
Massa is sidelined by a niggling thigh injury sustained two weeks back while training at Namboole.
Players in the camp: The Angolans are expected in the country this afternoon aboard a presidential jet.
Uganda Cranes Squad:

The ball crosses the line for Mwesigwa’s goal against Angola

AT the end of the Uganda Cranes footballing exhibition at Mandela stadium on Saturday, a beautiful female fan ran onto the pitch, planted a kiss on the cheek of a jolly Dan Wagaluka and sighed: “I wish it is always like this.”
Cranes’ coach Laszlo Csaba must have possessed a similar wish, after a majestic 3-1 win over an Angolan team fresh from the last World Cup finals.
The victory represented Cranes’ best-ever result at the 40,202 ultra-modern fortress that has claimed the scalps of other world heavy weights like Ghana and Nigeria.
Cranes reply critics
They said the Cranes had no chance. They said they should not even bother turning up for the fixture. Some had also come to bury the men in yellow – along with their under-pressure coach Csaba.
“A lot had been said of this team but we responded in the best way we could and that will continue,” Cranes captain Ibrahim Sekagya stated after goals by Eugene Sepuya, Andrew Mwesigwa and Wagaluka gave Uganda a 3-1 win.
They played with heart, desire and skill and – just a lack of killer instinct from Mike Sserumaga and later David Obua denying them that precious cricket result.
Man of the match
It’s hard to call but Serbia-based striker Sepuya just nicks it. Sepuya was in irrepressible mood, causing panic in the visitor’s defence that often withered under the strain of his masterful performance.
He changed the tide of the game in an instant with his 20-yard strike. The game as a contest died at that very moment. A brilliant 3-1 result.
